Standard and Deep checks
Which check type to pick for which document.
The difference
| Standard | Deep | |
|---|---|---|
| Reads | The PDF's text, or OCR for photos and scans | The page image itself |
| Speed | A few seconds | About 20 to 30 seconds |
| Best for | Clean PDF exports | Photos, scans, complex layouts |
| File, metadata, and pixel checks | All | All |
Only the content layer, which reads the fields to check the math, differs. Provenance, structure, and pixel checks are identical.
Which to choose
Use Standard for statements and invoices downloaded straight from a bank or billing system. Use Deep for phone photos, crumpled or faded receipts, and long statements where OCR might misread a digit; a misread digit can make the math look wrong when it is not.
